Abstract

: The contemporary job market demands engineers capable of integrating technical knowledge with socio-emotional skills to solve complex problems. In Brazil, this demand was formalized by the new National Curriculum Guidelines (DCNs) of 2019. Faced with the challenge of implementing these guidelines, the Triple Helix model (university-industry-government) emerges as a strategic framework to promote innovation in professional training. This work aims to analyze, through a systematic literature review in the Scopus database, following the PRISMA protocol, how the interactions between the actors of the helix contribute to the development of critical competencies in engineering education. The results show that educational synergy, the promotion of entrepreneurship, and the use of active methodologies are the main mechanisms for integration between academia and the productive sector. It is concluded that the Triple Helix acts as a practical catalyst for the National Curriculum Guidelines (DCNs), helping reduce the mismatch between academic training and market needs, especially regarding the undergraduates’ autonomy and innovation capacity.
