Abstract

This article examines the current directions for improving the credit policy of the banking sector of the Republic of Tajikistan in the context of financial market digitalization. The study analyzes the theoretical and methodological foundations of credit policy formation and explores its transformation under the influence of digital technologies. Based on statistical data for 2024-2025, the current state of bank lending in Tajikistan is assessed and the main challenges affecting the efficiency of credit policy are identified, including insufficient diversification of the loan portfolio, a limited level of digitalization of lending processes and persistent credit risks. The paper proposes key directions for improving credit policy through the implementation of a risk-oriented digital lending model, wider application of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data technologies, the development of an integrated digital information infrastructure and the enhancement of credit risk management mechanisms. The findings of the study may be used by commercial banks and banking regulators in developing measures aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability of the banking sector under conditions of financial market digitalization.
