Perancangan Sistem Informasi Manajemen Indekos Berbasis Web Menggunakan Framework Laravel dengan Metode Rapid Application Development (RAD)
Abstract
Conventional boarding house management often causes difficulties in recording room data, managing tenant information, monitoring rental payments, and preparing revenue reports. These issues were observed at Cempaka 57 Boarding House in Ciawi, Bogor, emphasizing the need for an integrated information system. This study aims to design and develop a web-based boarding house management information system and evaluate its functionality and usability. A descriptive approach was applied, with data collected through observation, interviews with the owner or manager and three tenants, and a preliminary questionnaire. System development followed the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method, consisting of Requirements Planning, Design Workshop, and Implementation. The system was built using the Laravel 11 framework, PHP programming language, and MySQL database, with modeling conducted using Unified Modeling Language (UML). Implemented features include room catalog and management, user registration, room booking, booking history, rental and billing information, and tenant management. Functional evaluation employed Black-box Testing with six scenarios, while usability was assessed using the System Usability Scale (SUS) involving ten respondents, including one manager and nine tenants. Results showed all six scenarios were valid, achieving a 100% success rate. The SUS evaluation produced an average score of 79.0, classified as Acceptable, with a Grade B rating and Good interpretation. These findings indicate the system meets functional requirements and receives positive usability feedback. The system is expected to improve administrative organization, facilitate access to room information, and support centralized management of tenant records and rental payments. Future development may include payment gateway integration, WhatsApp notifications, and a mobile application to enhance accessibility and functionality.
