Implementasi Revegetasi Berbasis Cocopeat sebagai Tahap Awal Pemulihan Lahan Pascapemboran: Kolaborasi Perguruan Tinggi, Industri, dan Masyarakat
Abstract
Post-drilling activities in the oil and gas sector have the potential to cause physical and ecological disturbances to land, such as soil compaction, loss of vegetation cover, declining quality of growing media, and increased risk of erosion. This community service activity aimed to implement cocopeat-based revegetation as an initial land recovery approach in the post-drilling area of BIN-01 Well, Samberah Field, Tanah Merah Subdistrict, North Samarinda District. The implementation method included initial site surveys, plant species selection, land readiness verification, planting point preparation, growing media preparation, and collaborative planting involving higher education, industry, local government, and the surrounding community. The growing media consisted of a mixture of cocopeat and loose soil, while the planted species were coconut (Cocos nucifera) and mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla). The results showed that revegetation was carried out on an area of approximately 500 m² with 45 planting holes and 38 seedlings, consisting of 22 coconut seedlings and 16 mahogany seedlings. The use of cocopeat helped improve growing media conditions in sandy soil, particularly in maintaining moisture and supporting early plant growth. This activity indicates that cocopeat-based revegetation can serve as a practical, applicable, and replicable alternative for post-drilling land recovery in similar locations.
