Abstract
These scientific and methodological recommendations were developed based on the results of a dissertation study and the authors’ own research, as well as published research materials on this topic. Guidelines are provided for the collection and packaging of pathological material. Special attention is given to methods for determining the age of the aborted fetus. Pathological and histopathological changes in the organs and tissues of fetuses and fetal portions of the placenta in cattle are described in detail. The role of serological testing of the herd and newborn calves as a key screening tool is highlighted. Diagnostic criteria for abortion caused by N. caninum are formulated, and potential risks arising during the diagnosis of abortion are outlined. A strategy for the control and prevention of neosporosis on the farm is proposed.
