Experimental study of the sound field of moving sourse

Sep 2026 · Podvodnye issledovaniia i robototehnika · Vol 57, pp. 24-32 · 0 citations

Abstract

This paper presents spectral processing of experimental data obtained by a diversity receiving system based on combined receivers. In the experiments the distance between the moving object and the receiving system, the positioning horizon of the moving underwater object, and the positioning horizon of the receiving system were varied. The goal of the analysis is to determine the signal components of a low-noise object and other characteristics of the source’s sound field in shallow water conditions and in the presence of nearby shipping noise using scalar, vector, and tensor descriptions of the sound field.

On the methods of forming trajectories of an autonomous uninhabited underwater vehicle for passive localization of noise sources

The problem of passive detection and localization of underwater noise sources, which is called bearing-only tracking, is considered. An overview of the methods of organizing the trajectories of the AUUV, equipped with passive sonar direction finders, which can improve the accuracy and reliability of solving this proble...

Preliminary Experimental Evaluation of an Acoustic Reception System for Underwater Homing

An underwater homing system is proposed, consisting of a pinger beacon that emits a known signal, which is received by a pair of piezoelectric transducers mounted on a umanned surface vehicle. A digital processing unit implements digital signal processing techniques based on time difference of arrival to estimate the d...

Using a vector–scalar sensor to study the characteristics of underwater noise of a scuba diver

The results of an experimental study in the frequency band 10-4000 Hz of spectral densities, coherence functions, and one-dimensional probability distribution densities of instantaneous sound pressure values and the horizontal component of the sound pressure gradient of underwater noise from a scuba diver equipped with...

A Preliminary Study on the Particle Motion of Underwater Sound Sources

Underwater acoustics plays a key role for fish to know the marine environment and to communicate between them. In this context, understanding not only how these fishes produce sound but also how they perceive it is of great importance for their preservation and survival. Some recent studies have shown the higher sensit...

Registration of modulation characteristics of sea objects' noise emission

One of the most important properties of underwater marine objects is their stealthiness. The underwater noise of a marine object is its deceptive factor. By analyzing the characteristics of the noise of a marine object, it is possible to determine the class of the marine object and its movement patterns. To improve the...

Energy-Attenuation-Based Passive Localization of Acoustic Sources in Restricted Aquatic Areas

: The article is devoted to the problem of determining the coordinates of a sound emitter using a network of scalar hydrophones. The physical operating principle of such a network is that a sound wave carries energy from the source through the medium, and this energy gradually decreases with distance from the emitter....
