Organizational renewal of the scientific and technological sphere of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and innovation demand
Abstract
The article examines Vietnam’s unique innovative development model over the past two decades: its structure and content, parameters of innovation activity, as well as changing approaches of government authorities and business to introducing the latest technological achievements into the economy. At the same time, a number of unresolved problems are pointed out that may hinder the achievement of the SRV government’s ambitious goal – to achieve an economic breakthrough and enter an era of prosperity primarily through increased innovation activity. The purpose of this work is to identify the features of the organizational renewal of Vietnam's science and technology sector and analyze the content of the innovation demand – the country's needs for the latest technologies and business development models. The results of the study show that the key focus of organizational renewal is the restructuring of the national innovation system, with enterprises playing a central role and a developed startup ecosystem. Innovation demand is shaped by GDP dynamics, high-tech imports, expanded private sector lending, as well as the development of domestic brands and the export of original goods.
