Implementação BIM no setor de projetos de uma empresa construtora: um estudo de caso
Abstract
The use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) has become increasingly consolidated in the construction sector, playing a relevant role in information management. However, its implementation reveals resistance due to the persistence of traditional practices and the lack of structured guidelines within companies. In this context, there is a scarcity of studies that analyze the empirical BIM implementation process based on maturity assessment tools. Thus, this study aims to analyze BIM implementation in the design sector of a construction company in João Pessoa, Paraíba. The case study was adopted as the research strategy, using meetings, document analysis and participant observation as sources of evidence. The BIM³ matrix was applied to measure the level of organizational maturity, and the results indicate a gradual implementation driven by operational demands and consolidated through the creation of an internal design department. The company was classified at a low-to-medium maturity level, highlighting gaps in the formalization of processes and guidelines. Therefore, institutional governance is essential to standardize workflows and strengthen BIM competencies.
