An integrated method for deformation monitoring of reservoir landslides using multisource data and its application
Abstract
To address the critical challenge of bank landslide disaster prevention and control within reservoir operations, this paper proposes an integrated “space-air” landslide deformation monitoring methodology. This approach synergistically combines Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (InSAR) and UAV tilt photogrammetry. SAR satellite data are utilized for the identification of widespread, latent hazards and for conducting time-series deformation monitoring of disaster-prone sites within the reservoir area. Concurrently, UAV tilt photogrammetry is employed to generate high-precision 3D real-scene models of landslides, enabling the calculation of their three-dimensional deformation. The fusion and analysis of these multi-source monitoring data are achieved through heterogeneous data registration. Application to the Kaiting Landslide, located in a hydropower station reservoir area in Southwest China, demonstrates the integrated InSAR and UAV technology’s efficacy in significantly enhancing landslide monitoring reliability. This methodology offers robust technical support for the safety management and early warning systems of reservoir bank landslides.
