Pengembangan MECOTIKA (Media Pembelajaran Berbasis Construct 3 dengan Pendekatan Etnomatematika) pada Materi Bangun Datar Kelas V Sekolah Dasar
Abstract
This study was motivated by the limited and predominantly conventional use of mathematics learning media and the lack of integration of an ethnomathematics approach in learning. Therefore, MECOTIKA, a learning media based on Construct 3 with an ethnomathematics approach, was developed for plane geometry material to provide interactive and contextual learning. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, consisting of Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The research was conducted at SD Islam Al Azhar 47 Samarinda, involving one teacher and 22 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, validation questionnaires, and user response questionnaires. Product validation involved media, material, and language experts. The results showed that MECOTIKA integrated plane geometry material with local East Kalimantan culture and included interactive features and quizzes. The validation results were 96.67% from the media expert, 90% from the material expert, and 98.33% from the language expert, all categorized as very valid. The practicality results showed a teacher response of 96%, a small-group student response of 91%, and a large-group student response of 93.88%, all categorized as very practical. Therefore, MECOTIKA met the criteria of being very valid and very practical and can be used as an alternative mathematics learning medium for fifth-grade elementary school students.
