Abstract

We derive Makai's inequality $\vol_n(K)\vol_n((K-K)^\circ)\ge(n+1)/n!$ in every dimension from the symmetric Mahler theorem in one higher dimension, with equality precisely for simplices. The proof uses a classical two-layer construction, an identity for its polar volume, and a Rogers--Shephard volume estimate. We then record basic consequences of the Mahler and Makai inequalities for polar successive minima, successive minima at the Santal\'o point, critical determinants, first covering minima, and non-separable lattice arrangements. We also combine Alexandrov--Fenchel with the volume-product inequalities to obtain sharp bounds for paired mixed volumes.

Alexandrov's Theorem for Integral Varifolds and Applications to Geometric Inequalities

In this paper, we use optimal mass transportation to derive an isoperimetric inequality and an interior Michael-Simon-Sobolev inequality for weakly twice differentiable integral varifolds of dimension and codimension at least $2$, with locally bounded first variation and $L^2_{loc}$ mean curvature. This generalizes a r...

The Robust Thompson's Conjecture for Alternating Groups

We show that there exists a constant $\epsilon>0$ such that if $C$ is a conjugacy class in $A_n$ of size at least $|A_n|^{1-\epsilon}$, then $A_n \setminus \{1\} \subseteq C^2$. This proves the robust version of Thompson's conjecture for the alternating group, conjectured by Shalev (Annals of Math., 2009). Our proof co...

P\'olya's conjecture for Neumann eigenvalues of annuli

We prove strict P\'olya inequalities for every positive Neumann eigenvalue of every Euclidean annulus. The proof preserves the exact Weyl area term through a radial action identity and combines variational bounds with uniform Bessel-phase and angular-sum estimates. Explicit polynomial positivity arguments and angular-l...

An asymptotic $\Gamma$-BMT inequality

We refine a bound of Cheng-Feyzbakhsh to prove an asymptotic $\Gamma$-Bayer-Macr\`i-Toda ($\Gamma$-BMT) inequality on every smooth polarized complex threefold. The proof relies on a reduction to small tilt stability parameters. Using this inequality we verify Feyzbakhsh-Thomas's condition $(wBG)$ whenever $K_{X}$ is nu...

Wiman-Valiron inequalities in the unit disk outside sets of finite logarithmic measure

We give affirmative answers to both parts of Question 2.6 posed by Grosse-Erdmann (2025) concerning Wiman-Valiron inequalities in the unit disk. For every unbounded analytic function in the disk, we establish the proposed iterated-logarithm inequalities outside exceptional sets of finite logarithmic measure. The corres...

Hausdorff-Young inequalities for $\mathrm{SU}(1,1)$ Fourier products indexed by binary cubes

We study nonlinear logarithmic Hausdorff-Young inequalities with constant $1$ for $\mathrm{SU}(1,1)$-valued Fourier products indexed by binary cubes. The inequalities are proved for the optimal range of exponents, extending into the region $1/p + 1/q<1$. The proof combines majorization, a known sharp two-point inequali...
