Abstract
Nonwoven graphene fiber fabrics, as emerging carbon textiles, have attracted considerable interest for wearable electronic devices. It remains challenging, however, to realize the green and scalable construction of nonwoven graphene-based fabric electrodes with areal capacitance. Herein, we report a facile, green strategy to fabricate AgI-decorated reduced graphene oxide fiber fabrics (rGOFF). The active AgI material is in situ deposited without intermediate washing steps. This process not only minimizes chemical waste and processing time but also preserves the open porous network of the nonwoven architecture, facilitating efficient ion transport and mechanical robustness. The resulting AgI@rGOFF electrodes exhibit a remarkable areal capacitance of 1106.56 mF cm-2 in aqueous H2SO4 electrolyte and possess favorable rate capability. When assembled into solid-state supercapacitors, they deliver an energy density of 58.36 μWh cm-2 and 85.21% capacitance retention after 5000 cycles. By reducing post-treatment processes and enhancing interfacial charge storage, this work establishes a sustainable and industrially viable pathway for high-performance fabric-based supercapacitors, and the AgI@rGOFF serves as a promising platform for next-generation flexible electronics.
Considering the distinct charge storage mechanisms, it is difficult to achieve high energy density while maintaining high power density in electric double-layer capacitors (EDLCs) and pseudocapacitors. Therefore, it is necessary to rationally design the structure of electrode materials to balance these properties. In...
