Abstract

This paper presents a comprehensive comparative analysis of the linguocultural and semantic features of modern terminology in English and Uzbek. In the contemporary era of rapid technological advancement, globalization, and digital transformation, terminology is expanding rapidly across various domains such as information technology, business, medicine, and social media. Modern terms do not merely function as neutral lexical tools for conveying professional concepts; they are deeply embedded with cultural values, cognitive perspectives, and national worldviews. This study examines how modern terms are formed, borrowed, semantically modified, and integrated into the English and Uzbek linguistic systems. Utilizing a comparative-typological and linguocultural framework, the research investigates the semantic shift, metaphorization, direct borrowing, and calque adaptation mechanisms in both languages. The findings highlight the significant divergence in cognitive conceptualization between English as a donor/source language and Uzbek as a receptor language, emphasizing the necessity of preserving linguocultural authenticity while maintaining scientific and technological precision.
