Abstract

The article provides a theoretical analysis of scientific pedagogical literature to identify a set of methodological approaches that, when applied in the educational process of higher education institutions, ensure the effective individualization of instruction for computer science students through gamification. The analysis of the scientific works by Ukrainian scientists made it possible to identify the following set of methodological approaches: competence-based, differentiated, individual, personalized, technological, personality-oriented, activity-based, and systemic. We believe that the implementation of the leading provisions of the identified methodological approaches in the educational process ensures high-quality training of computer science students and has a positive effect on the formation of a set of integral, general and special competencies (including digital competence as one of the key competences for lifelong learning), and enables them to be involved in individual and group activities in accordance with their individual characteristics and educational needs. Gamification of the educational process, based on the identified methodological approaches, involves the use of traditional and innovative technologies, forms of organization, methods, and teaching means, which contribute to the effective individualization of instruction for computer science students.
