Abstract

Tourism villages have become an important strategy for sustainable tourism development through community participation. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Community-Based Tourism in Nongkosawit Tourism Village based on community participation. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method using non-participatory observation, semi-structured in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data validity was tested through triangulation of sources and techniques. Data were collected from December 2025 to January 2026, involving eight participants selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted through data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data were analyzed thematically to identify patterns in the implementation of the four main principles of CBT: community involvement in every aspect of tourism activities, environmental sustainability, cultural preservation, and the distribution of local economic benefits. The results indicate that Nongkosawit Tourism Village possesses diverse tourism potential, supported by attractions, amenities, and accessibility. In practice, the implementation of these four principles remains suboptimal due to limited community participation, environmental challenges, a lack of cultural drivers, and unequal distribution of economic benefits. To support successful tourism development, there needs to be increased community participation, especially among youth as the next generation, improvements in facilities, and maintenance of good relations between the village government and the community.
