Abstract
The article examines Middle Armenian borrowings that have integrated into Modern Literary Eastern Armenian. First, based on dictionaries and relevant linguistic literature, it clarifies which words were borrowed during the Middle Armenian period and from which languages they originated. Subsequently, utilizing modern Armenian dictionaries and the existing linguistic corpus, the study determines which of these words have been inherited by Modern Literary Eastern Armenian. We have also taken into account the fact that these dictionaries and various studies are decades old, which implies certain shifts in the vocabulary that have occurred up to the present day. For instance, some words classified as dialectal or colloquial in existing dictionaries now form part of the active vocabulary of the literary language; conversely, there are words that have already become obsolete and have been replaced by other equivalents. The words under discussion are analyzed and classified into semantic groups according to their source languages.
