Envisioning and Co-Creating Generative AI for Future Creative Workers in Gaming: A CHI PLAY 2026 Workshop

Nov 2026 · Companion Proceedings of the Annual Symposium on Computer-Human Interaction in Play · pp. 557-560 · 0 citations

TL;DR

This workshop aims to gather creative workers in gaming broadly to exchange knowledge on opportunities and challenges of generative AI and collaboratively envision how generative AI should be designed to support their future creative work and gaming as a broad creative domain while mitigating AI’s potential risks and limitations.

Abstract

The gaming community is facing massive changes and disruptions as generative AI is increasingly used in almost all aspects of creative work involved in game design, development, analytics, and even games research. This new trend is significantly shifting the trajectory of the gaming community by affecting how digital games can be designed, produced, experienced, and studied. The main goal of the workshop is to gather creative workers in gaming broadly (e.g., researchers, practitioners, and various stakeholders) from different domains and with different roles/perspectives to exchange knowledge on opportunities and challenges of generative AI has already brought to their creative work and collaboratively envision how generative AI should be designed to support their future creative work and gaming as a broad creative domain while mitigating AI’s potential risks and limitations.
