Abstract
Software-Defined Networking (SDN) relies on software controllers to program data-plane forwarding, so controller availability is critical: the controller is a single point of failure where High Availability (HA) state synchronization trades recovery speed against synchronization overhead. This paper empirically evaluates two HA architectures in Ryu and Mininet: RedisHA, a shared data store architecture holding controller state in an external Redis store managed via VRRP, and HTTP-HA, a lightweight direct replication architecture. Under forced failover events, HTTP-HA substantially reduces latency, achieving a 1.73 s average control-plane recovery time (TCP) and limiting packet loss to 4.16%. Conversely, Redis-HA exhibits a 5.38 s TCP and higher latency spikes (0.61 ms average RTT) due to external database round-trips and virtual-IP takeover. We conclude that HTTP-HA suits dynamic edge deployments, while Redis-HA remains useful when an external shared state store is preferred.
Network Moving Target Defense (MTD) built on Software-Defined Networking (SDN) continuously rotates host-facing addresses to invalidate an attacker's reconnaissance. Each rotation creates a burst of control-plane mutations, while new connections may simultaneously require reactive flow installation. Yet SDN controller...
Software Defined Networking (SDN) plays a major role in today’s modern cloud and 5G systems. It separates control from forwarding and allows operators to manage the network through programmable controllers. The actual performance of an SDN deployment is dependent on the selected controller and underlying topology. This...

Software-Defined Networking (SDN) transforms traditional network design by decoupling the control and data planes, enabling centralized programmability, scalability, and dynamic reconfiguration. This paper presents a QoS-driven performance analysis of two popular SDN controllers, Ryu and ONOS, combined with Dijkstra...

Datacenter congestion control (CC) and load balancing (LB) evolve rapidly as workload demands change, but deployment depends on RDMA hardware and transport interfaces. Emerging programmable RDMA engines tie policy code to vendor APIs. Operators must therefore port each policy for every platform they deploy. We address...

Results demonstrate that RSC can make RDMA economically viable for serverless services, and workflow, request‑mix, resource, noisy‑neighbor, endpoint‑scale, and QP‑density diagnostics confirm that connection reuse removes millisecond‑scale RC setup from warm service invocation paths.
