Abstract
Today’s business environment is characterized by high dynamism, technological change, intensifying competition, the digitization of business processes, and growing societal demands for corporate environmental and social responsibility. Under these conditions, traditional approaches to business development are gradually losing their effectiveness. Enterprises are forced not only to adapt to changes in the external environment but also to create new opportunities for their own development actively. Innovative development is becoming a key factor in corporate competitiveness; it involves the creation and implementation of new products, technologies, business models, management approaches, and organizational solutions. At the same time, modern innovations must align with the principles of sustainable development – that is, they must ensure the company’s economic efficiency without excessive use of natural resources or negative impacts on society. The article argues that contemporary challenges related to stricter environmental requirements, corporate social responsibility, and the need to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) create a need for new approaches to managing corporate innovation activities. A matrix is developed to illustrate the interrelationships among the stages of innovation, the Sustainable Development Goals, and ESG components, ensuring the integration of sustainable development principles throughout the innovation process. The practical significance of the results lies in the feasibility of applying the proposed approach to formulating corporate innovation strategies, evaluating the effectiveness of innovation activities, developing ESG policies, and enhancing corporate competitiveness in the context of sustainable development.
