Abstract

Parameter selection in an LCC-S compensated wireless power transfer system is difficult because the circuit variables are coupled and an increase in output power does not necessarily lead to higher transmission efficiency. In this study, the primary compensation inductance, equivalent load resistance, and mutual inductance were treated as three design variables, and their selection was formulated as a two-objective optimization problem. The search was performed using an archive-based particle swarm optimization method that combines dynamic inertia adjustment, probabilistic velocity pausing, and stagnation reset. MOPSO, NSGA-II, and MOGWO were used as comparison methods in 10 independent runs. Hypervolume, Spacing, the number of nondominated solutions, and runtime were recorded. Relative to MOPSO, the proposed method increased mean hypervolume by 8.45%, reduced Spacing by 41.14%, and reduced the observed MATLAB runtime by 26.30%. The obtained Pareto front contained candidates corresponding to a high-output-power boundary, an intermediate power–efficiency trade-off, and high-efficiency operation. Three representative candidates were further examined using a switching-level Simulink model together with model-calculated current and loss indicators. These results are intended to support preliminary parameter selection for LCC-S systems; hardware calibration is still required before the reported candidates can be used as practical operating points.
