Práticas biblioteconômicas sustentáveis: uma revisão de literatura sobre a aplicabilidade dos ODS pelas bibliotecas em prol da sustentabilidade
Abstract
The goal is to map, through the scientific literature, the Sustainable Development Goals incorporated into library practices in favorof sustainability. This is a literature review, descriptive in nature and qualitative, conducted in the Reference Database of Periodical Articles in Information Science, from January to March 2026, using the descriptors “Libraries,” “Green Libraries,” “Sustainability,” “Sustainable Development Goals,” and “SDGs,” combined with the Boolean operator AND. Articles published between 2017 and 2025, in Portuguese and English, fully available and located exclusively in this database were considered, resulting in a sample of eight articles. The results showed that not only public and community libraries are progressively incorporating the 2030 Agenda into their practices, connecting environmental, economic, social, and cultural dimensions. Practices related to environmental education, access to information, information mediation, accessibility, resource management, and community actions were identified. It is concluded that sustainability has been expanding its role in library work, regardless of its type, going beyond purely environmental perspectives and strengthening the social role of libraries as agents of information, education, and community transformation.
