Abstract

Objective: Analyze the scientific evidence published between 2015 and 2025 on professional development strategies for human talent implemented in workplaces, as well as their main reported effects. Methodology: A qualitative-descriptive systematic review of articles located in SciELO and Scopus was conducted, complemented by direct searches on journal websites; the process followed the PRISMA 2020 statement and included identification, screening, eligibility assessment, and study selection. Twenty-four studies were analyzed, and their information was organized using an extraction matrix, open and axial thematic coding, and descriptive statistics. Results: Eight categories of strategies were identified; structured training and education predominated (79.2%), followed by enabling organizational conditions (50.0%) and competency management and performance evaluation (45.8%). The production was mainly concentrated in Ibero-America and in qualitative studies, with a greater presence in 2024 and 2025. The effects were mainly reported through perceptions, while studies using external indicators, validated instruments, or comparative designs were scarce. Conclusions: It was concluded that the effectiveness of the strategies was mainly linked to the implementation conditions, such as supervision, mentoring, availability of time and resources, and beneficiary participation. The need to develop longitudinal research and evaluations with verifiable organizational outcomes was raised.
