Abstract

This study combines mixed-mode frequency-domain analysis over 0.005–4.000 GHz with a separate 4 Gb/s QuickEye comparison of conventional and near-via P/N compensation layouts. The four-port SIwave export shows the lowest sampled differential reflection at 1.134899 GHz and a selected local minimum at 2.950808 GHz. At the latter frequency, Sdd11=−0.006669+j0.004975, giving a differential input impedance of 98.670+j0.982Ω with a 100 Ω reference. In the paired layout simulations, differential return loss improves by 3.26 dB near 3 GHz, and Sdd21 changes from −1.01 to −0.99 dB at the cursor. Insertion loss does not improve consistently across 0–4 GHz. At the saved 250 ps unit interval (4 Gb/s), QuickEye eye width increases from 212.4549 to 219.0924 ps, and RMS jitter decreases from 6.2575 to 5.1513 ps. The 0–4 GHz sweep reaches the 4 GHz Nyquist frequency of PCIe 3.0, but the 4 Gb/s time-domain comparison remains below the 8.0 GT/s PCIe 3.0 line rate and does not assess compliance.

Impact of Topology on the Performance and Spectral Behavior of THz Schottky Mixers

This work presents a comparative analysis of two full-band WR-3.4 sub-harmonic mixers (SHM) based on Schottky diodes, using alternative anti-parallel and cross-bar diode balancing configurations. Both mixers share equivalent technology and design techniques, offering a very unique opportunity for a direct experimental...

Design and Optimization of a Miniaturized Stub-Based Branch-Line Coupler at 900 MHz for GSM Applications

The branch-line coupler (BLC) is a four-port passive component widely used in wireless and microwave systems to divide or combine power equally with a 90° phase difference between its output ports. Because each branch of a conventional BLC is a quarter-wavelength long, the circuit becomes bulky at low frequencies such...

A Compact 6–18 GHz RF Limiter Using Schottky Barrier Diodes in GaAs pHEMT Process

This paper presents a compact, wideband radio frequency (RF) limiter designed and fabricated using conventional Schottky barrier diodes (SBDs) in the 0.1μm GaAs D-mode pHEMT process. The number of stages is selected through a parametric trade-off analysis across one- to seven-stage configurations, balancing large-signa...

Comparative Analysis and Behavioral Modelling of Power Amplifiers in FR3

Power amplifier (PA) nonlinearity is a critical transmitter impairment in the upper mid-band (7 GHz to 24 GHz), designated as Frequency Range 3 (FR3) in emerging 6G standardisation. The 3GPP PA model baseline, TR 38.803 Annex A, was derived from 2.1 GHz and 28 GHz measurements and has not been revisited yet for FR3 sta...

High-Speed Waveguide InP/InGaAs UTC-PDs for over 200 Gb/s/λ Optical Transmission

Scaling of artificial intelligence data centers is pushing the aggregate speed of photonic transceivers over 1.6 Tb/s and even 3.2 Tb/s, which in the multi-channel configuration accounts for a 200 Gb/s data transmission speed for each wavelength. Uni-traveling carrier photodetectors have proved high bandwidth performan...
