Abstract
Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) precoding with non-constant modulus codebooks inherently induces perantenna local power constraints (LPCs). However, current Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) specifications suggest that channel state information (CSI) at the user equipment (UE) is computed under a global power constraint (GPC), without accounting for per-antenna power amplifier (PA) limitations. This mismatch can lead to infeasible transmission strategies, typically addressed through transmit power back-off or PA overdimensioning, at the expense of spectral efficiency or increased cost, respectively. In this paper, we propose a low-overhead signaling mechanism that enables power-matched CSI reporting. Link-level simulations under 3GPP-compliant assumptions show that the proposed approach mitigates performance degradation while reducing the need for PA over-dimensioning.
Increasing power consumption of extremely largescale antenna arrays in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) deployments motivates antenna-port adaptation for network energy saving (NES), where the next-generation NodeB (gNB) switches among multiple antenna-port sub-configurations (subcfgs) to match traffic variations...

Accurate channel state information (CSI) acquisition is essential for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. The Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) specifies a limited feedback framework in which the user equipment reports CSI to the base station. In medium-to-high mobility scenarios, CSI becomes outda...

This letter investigates power allocation strategies for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems under joint sum-power and per-antenna power constraints in the case of rank-deficient channels. Starting from the generic problem, we introduce an auxiliary approach based on a fixed precoder structure, devising a low...

This letter addresses the challenges of spectrum scarcity and co-channel interference in visible light communication (VLC) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems by introducing over-the-air computation (AirComp) technology. Under VLC-specific transmission constraints, the precoding matrices, aggregation matrix,...

High-frequency and broadband line-of-sight multiple-input multiple-output (LoS-MIMO) is a key solution for massive space-to-Earth data downlinks. However, in low Earth orbit (LEO) scenarios, it faces spatial rank deficiency from time-frequency coupling correlation and clock deviations from distributed oscillators. This...
