Abstract

The article describes an experiment to study the sounding speech of the speakers of the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company "Tatarstan" and speech samples of native speakers of the Menzelinsky dialect of the middle dialect of the Tatar language using experimental phonetics based on the methodology of experimental studies of the languages of the Ural-Altai group I. Ya. Selyutina and O. N. Morozova. The analysis was carried out using auditory, visual, and instrumental methods using computer programs: audio files were sliced in the Audacity program, segmented, and analyzed in Speech Analyzer 3.0.1. The study of dialect and reference speech revealed features that had not previously been described in the scientific literature. An atypical manifestation of vocal characteristics was recorded - the pronunciation of back-row vowels with a special acoustic effect: back-row vowels [a], [o] and [u] are realized with signs of palatalization, that is, they acquire a "softened" sound quality. This feature is clearly evident at the acoustic level.
