Pengaruh Religiusitas terhadap Kecemasan pada Siswa SMP dengan Social Support sebagai Variabel Moderator
Abstract
This study is motivated by the high levels of anxiety among early adolescents due to developmental transitions and academic pressure, where religiosity is hypothesized to act as a protective factor moderated by social support. This study aims to analyze the negative effect of religiosity on anxiety and to examine the role of social support as a moderating variable among eighth-grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Kota Bandung. Employing a cross-sectional quantitative approach, this study involved 98 eighth-grade students selected via a simple random sampling technique. Data analysis was performed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with SmartPLS software. The results indicate that religiosity has a negative and significant effect on anxiety ( = -0,215, p < 0,05), and social support significantly moderates this relationship ( = -0,178, p < 0,05). The conclusion confirms that religiosity reduces student anxiety, and its protective effectiveness is enhanced by adequate social support from the surrounding environment.
