We determine all equality cases in the Tu--Deng bound $|S_{t,k}|\le 2^{k-1}$. If the $k$-bit cyclic word of $t$ has $R$ ones, $Z$ zeros, and cyclic one-gap lengths $g_1,\ldots,g_Z$, then equality holds if and only if $g_i\ge Z-1$ for every $i$. This resolves Conjecture~3.20 of Flori, Randriambololona, Cohen and Mesnager, and we also enumerate all equality parameters. For $R\ge Z$ we determine the sharp first stability gap and all extremal words, while for $R<Z$ we obtain an exact quantization of the deficit and an explicit run-sensitive lower bound. The proofs are structural: an explicit matrix conjugation identifies the auxiliary enumerators in the two recent complete proofs of the Tu--Deng conjecture. We then develop a rooted coarsening model for all coefficients, prove one-sided deletion rigidity and an exact Macaulay-flux identity, and derive a Macaulay--M\"obius formula from the bounded simplex at the highest cyclic level.
For $m\geq 2$, let $c_p(m)$ be the all-dimensional best constant in $$ \left\|\sum_{k=1}^m A_k\right\|_p \leq c_p(m)\left\|\sum_{k=1}^m |A_k|\right\|_p. $$ Tang and Zhang conjectured an explicit formula for every finite $p>1$. We disprove the conjecture with two explicit real $2\times 2$ rank-one matrices at $p=3/2$. The comparison is certified by seven strict rational inequalities and, in particular, places the attained ratio above $207/200$, while the conjectured constant lies below $207/200$. On the positive side, we prove the conjectured sharp bound for every family of rank-at-most-one summands when $2\leq p<\infty$, and classify all equality cases. We also prove the corresponding endpoint statement for $p=\infty$. Finally, for arbitrary complex matrices, we establish the conjectured sharp constant in the case $m=2$, $p=4$.
We present a unified presentation of the fixed-size adjacency-spectral extremal problem for odd wheels $W_{2k+1}$, where $k\geq2$ and $W_{2k+1}=K_1\vee C_{2k}$. The exceptional case $W_5$ and the general case $W_{2k+1}$, $k\ge3$, share the same dense-core reduction and edge-spectral stability, but have different rigidity structures. We prove that every $W_5$-free graph of sufficiently large size $m$ satisfies $\rho(G)^2-\rho(G)\le m,$ with equality precisely for $K_{n,n}$ with a perfect matching embedded in each part, where $n$ is even and $m=n^2+n$. For any fixed $k\ge3$, every $W_{2k+1}$-free graph of sufficiently large size $m$ satisfies $\rho(G)^2-(k-1)\rho(G)\le m-\binom{k}{2},$ with equality precisely for $K_k\vee qK_1$ when $m=\binom{k}{2}+kq$. Our results completely settle a conjecture proposed by Yu, Li and Peng and, via a distinct approach, further strengthen known results concerning odd cycles, friendship graphs and odd fan graphs for sufficiently large $m.$ The proof combines the edge-spectral stability theorem, residual functions and the dense-core method.
Harwit and Sloane conjectured that every nonsingular entrywise-nonnegative matrix $A\in\mathbb R^{n\times n}$ satisfies $\|A^{-1}\|_F\ge 2n(n+1)^{-1}\|A\|_{\max}^{-1}$, with equality precisely for positive multiples of $S$-matrices. Cheng proved the conjecture in odd dimensions, while Frankel and Urschel proved the even-dimensional case for $n\ge1000$. We complete the remaining even-dimensional cases. Starting from the structural identities in Frankel--Urschel Lemma 2.1, we derive an exact global defect budget and combine binary rounding with Gram projection. A refined ten-row obstruction handles every even $n\ge66$; a finite exact calculation handles $4\le n\le64$, $n\ne6$; and a separate multi-column energy argument treats $n=6$. The order-two case follows from a direct calculation. The new even-dimensional proof has been formalized in Lean 4, with Frankel--Urschel Lemma 2.1 as its sole external mathematical input. Together with Cheng's odd-dimensional theorem, this proves the S-matrix conjecture in every dimension.
For every odd integer $t\ge17$, we prove that an explicit circulant graph on $5t-10$ vertices is doubly saturated $R(3,t)$-good. The graph is triangle-free and has independence number $t-1$. Adding any nonedge creates a triangle, whereas deleting any edge creates an independent set of order $t$. This settles Conjecture 2 of Przybocki, Mackey, Heule, and Subercaseaux. A cyclic sumset identity and explicit witnesses prove the local saturation properties. Writing $t=2m+1$, a five-layer reduction proves the independence bound via a uniform affine certificate for $m\ge30$ and an exhaustive checker for $8\le m\le29$. The checker soundness and the complete argument are formalized in Lean 4.32.2. Consequently, $2t-1\le \operatorname{DS}(3,t)\le 5t-10$ for odd $t\ge17$.

In this paper, we study the random walk on the symmetric group $\mathfrak{S}_n$ generated by the conjugacy class of $k$-cycles, where $2\le k=o(n/(\log n)^4)$. We prove that the walk exhibits hitting-time mixing: at the first time when every card has been touched, the distribution is already close to equilibrium. For odd $k$, the equilibrium measure is the uniform measure on $\mathfrak{A}_n$. For even $k$, the walk first mixes to the parity mixture determined by the hitting time, and in our range this mixture is asymptotically $U_{\mathfrak{S}_n}$. Our argument combines a refined fixed-time approximation for the random $k$-cycle walk near the cutoff window with an auxiliary marking scheme inspired by Jain-Sawhney's work (arXiv:2410.23944) on random transpositions. The main new feature is a parity-compatible coupling which handles both odd and even $k$-cycles in a unified framework. We also prove a hitting-time mixing result in the opposite regime $k\ge n-o(n^{1/2})$, and formulate a conjecture for all $2\le k\le n-1$.

We study Krasner quotient hyperfields arising from finite fields, $F_q/G_r$, where $G_r\le F_q^\times$ has index $r$. Building on the structure theorem of Baker--Jin, we determine the characteristic and C-characteristic of all sufficiently large such quotients: they depend only on the parity of $r$ and, when $r$ is even, on the residue class of $q$ modulo $2r$. In particular, the two Baker--Jin stable classes for even $r$ are separated by characteristic $2$ versus $3$, while the C-characteristic is always $1$. We complement this structural result with a computational laboratory: sharp Weil thresholds for Baker--Jin large-$q$ isomorphism, empirical minimal stabilization bounds $N_r^{\mathrm{emp}}$, complete finite-field quotient atlases for hyperfield orders $n\le 7$, and comparisons with the enumerations of Ameri--Eyvazi--Ho\v{s}kov\'a-Mayerov\'a (orders $\le 6$) and Massouros--Massouros (order $7$). Among other findings, exactly $15$ isomorphism types of order $7$ arise as finite-field quotients, out of $277$ hyperfields of that order -- a concrete data point toward the Baker--Jin rarity conjecture for quotients. All algorithms and tables are available in an open-source package suitable for independent verification and arXiv ancillary material.
