Abstract

Learning that utilizes digital media must have its effectiveness enhanced so that learning interactions become more dynamic and students are no longer merely passive recipients of information. An analysis of the use of YouTube as an interactive learning tool at SMP Ibrahimy is the main focus of this study. This research also examines the level of student participation in learning and reveals various obstacles that arise during the learning activities. A total of 98 students spread across four parallel classes in Science and Social Studies subjects served as research subjects using a descriptive qualitative approach. Passive participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation were used to collect data from May to June 2026. The Miles, Huberman, and Saldana analysis model was applied through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Source triangulation, technique triangulation, and member checking were the procedures for testing data validity. The study results revealed that the effectiveness of YouTube in encouraging interaction during the learning process is highly dependent on the implementation of systematically structured learning strategies. Increased student participation was observed through several indicators, such as better concentration on learning materials, growing confidence to respond to questions, and more intense involvement in group discussion forums. Several identified obstacles include unstable internet connections, visual distractions caused by video content, and variations in preferences regarding how students absorb information. YouTube has proven capable of functioning as an effective interactive learning medium, especially when its use is supported by appropriate pedagogical strategies and classroom management.

The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.
