Synthesis and Biological Activities of New 3-Amino Derivatives of Methyl 2-oxo-1-(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)-1,2-dihydroquinoxaline-6-carboxylate
Abstract
3-Amino derivatives of methyl 2-oxo-1-(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)-1,2-dihydroquinoxaline-6-carboxylate (7a-l) were prepared using methyl 4-chloro-3-nitrobenzoate (1) as the starting material. The synthesized derivatives were characterized by 1H NMR, mass and IR spectroscopy. The derivatives were tested for their antibacterial activity evaluated against four different bacterial strains, such as Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis. The derivatives further screened for their anticancer activity against two breast cancer cell lines, MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231. The activity results indicate that the derivatives 7e and 7f show good activity as compared to the standard drug erlotinib. Further, the docking results also supports the in vitro anticancer activity results.
