Abstract

Issue: The world above 100 T may look different from our 0 T world. What kind of crystal structure is favored in the world of complete spin polarization? The representative case is the spin-controlled crystal of solid oxygen [1] and spin-crossover cobaltite [2]. What we did: With the marriage of the portable 100 T generator (PINK-02) and the compact x-ray free electron laser (SACLA), we enabled the x-ray measurements of materials up to 110 T with a low temperature down to 10 K using a micro-plastic He-flow cryostat. We performed experiments on solid oxygen, LaCoO3, Bi0.5Ca0.5MnO3 [3]. Bright future of XFEL science above 100 Tesla Technological issue: x-ray diffraction, x-ray absorption, -ray emission, Scientific issue: Oxygen, Iron, strongly correlated electron system, spin crossover, valence transition, structural transition, multimer in solids [1] T.
