Abstract
A taxonomic review of the genus Hemiglaea Sugi, 1980 from mainland China is presented, including the description of a new species, Hemiglaea kaixiangi sp. nov., and reports of three newly recorded species. The new species was illustrated with images of male adults and male genitalia, and compared with similar species. Additionally, diagnostic characters distinguishing the three newly recorded species from known taxa are briefly noted. DNA barcode data of the new species and its relatives are deposited in GenBank and a ML tree has been constructed. The type specimens of the new species were deposited in the Department of Entomology, College of Plant Protection, South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou.
