Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technologies and internet-based applications has significantly increased the risk of cyber threats, making software security a critical concern. Traditional security systems mainly rely on predefined rules and signature-based detection techniques, which often fail to identify new and sophisticated attacks. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as an effective solution to overcome these limitations by providing intelligent, adaptive, and automated security mechanisms. AI-based security systems use technologies such as Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), and Behavioral Analysis to monitor software activities, detect anomalies, and identify potential threats in real time. These systems can analyze large volumes of data, recognize malicious patterns, and respond quickly to security incidents without extensive human intervention. AI also enhances malware detection, intrusion detection, user authentication, phishing prevention, and vulnerability assessment. This research paper examines the role of AI in strengthening software security by discussing its working principles, applications, advantages, challenges, and future opportunities. The study highlights how AI improves threat detection accuracy, reduces response time, and provides proactive protection against evolving cyberattacks. Despite challenges such as data dependency, privacy concerns, and implementation costs, AI-based security systems have the potential to revolutionize cybersecurity and create a more secure digital environment
