Рус әдәби телендә алый төсе кулланылышының семантик-функциональ үзенчәлекләре
Abstract
This article examines the history of the Russian adjective “alyj” (scarlet/bright red), which is of Turkic origin. The word is a common Turkic lexical unit found in nearly all Turkic languages, where it carries various meanings such as “noble”, “magical”, and others. The study addresses the semantic and functional characteristics of this loanword. Within the Russian lexical system, “alyj” retains the meaning of a bright or light red color, used to describe festive clothing, fabrics, and gemstones. At the same time, the word has undergone semantic expansion in Russian, acquiring figurative connotations associated with celebration, beauty, merriment, and joy.
