Abstract

For a primitive symplectic variety $X$ admitting a holomorphic Lagrangian fibration $f: X \to B$, we classify the possible Mumford--Tate groups of the very general fiber. We extract as a consequence that the discriminant of $f$ has codimension one in $B$. In the special case when $X$ is a hyper-K\"ahler manifold which is general among those admitting a Lagrangian fibration, and $b_2(X) \geq 7$, we further show that the very general fiber of $f$ is Hodge-generic. Finally, as an application of our classification, we confirm an expectation of Li--Tosatti that when $f$ is not isotrivial, the special K\"ahler metric on $B$ has positive holomorphic sectional curvature on the regular values of $f$.

New extremal K\"ahler metrics on projective bundles

Consider a holomorphic vector bundle $E$ over a compact complex curve $C$ which decomposes as a sum of stable vector bundles. For the projectivization $\mathbb{P}(E)$, we prove that the existence of a compatible extremal almost K\"ahler (aK) metric of involutive type in the sense of Lejmi is equivalent to the existence...

The Kuranishi space of joint deformations of Calabi--Yau manifolds and holomorphic vector bundles

In this paper, we study joint deformations of pairs $(X,E)$, where $X$ is a compact complex manifold and $E\rightarrow X$ is a holomorphic vector bundle. We prove that $(X,E)$ has unobstructed deformations if $X$ is a Fujiki manifold with torsion canonical bundle and $H^2(X,\textrm{End}^0E)=0$, where $\textrm{End}^0 E$...

The Smooth Narrow Mordell-Weil Group of Elliptically Fibered 4-Manifolds

For an elliptically fibered 4-manifold $\pi\colon M\to B$, we introduce a subgroup of the smooth mapping class group of $M$ with explicit geometric representatives: the smooth narrow Mordell-Weil group $MW_0(\pi)$. Leveraging Kodaira's classification of singular fibers, we construct a natural isomorphism between $MW_0(...

The Drinfeld associator and $A_\infty$ functors

We compare two mixed Hodge structures attached to a unipotent variation $\mathbb V$ of mixed Hodge--Tate structures on $X=\mathbb P^1\setminus{0,1,\infty}$: the cohomology of its extension by $*$ at $0$ and by $!$ at $\infty$, and the vanishing cycles at $1$. The semi-holonomy isomorphism constructed in [arXiv:2604.263...

Cohomology on Cotangent Bundles of Partial Flag Varieties in Type A

Let $G=\mathrm{SL}_n(\mathbf C)$ and let $P\subset G$ be a standard parabolic subgroup with Levi factor $L$. For a $G$-dominant weight $\lambda$, consider the vector bundle on $T^*(G/P)$ obtained by pulling back the vector bundle on $G/P$ associated to the irreducible $L$-module $V_L(\lambda)^*$. We express its cohomol...

Compact lcK manifolds with Gauduchon parallel vector fields

We prove that on a compact locally conformally K\"ahler manifold, the existence of a non-trivial parallel vector field with respect to a Gauduchon connection $\nabla^t$, for $t\ne \frac{1}{3}$, forces the metric to be either Vaisman (for $t=-1$), globally conformally K\"ahler (for $t=1$), or K\"ahler for all other valu...
