Agreement-Based Audio-Visual Segmentation:Champion Report for the MeViS-Audio Track in the 8th LSVOS Challenge

Abstract

The MeViS-Audio track asks a system to segment the objects described by a spoken motion expression throughout a video and to return empty masks when the described target is absent. We present a simple staged solution. Qwen3-ASR first converts speech into text. Several video mask tracks are then produced with complementary grounding and segmentation models. Instead of trusting a single prediction, we select the track that has the highest average mask agreement with the other candidates. A small set of explicit direction, count, and plural rules corrects queries that require more than ordinary single-object tracking. Finally, a video-level classifier combines visual, audio-visual, and within-video query scores to decide whether any target is present. The submitted system obtains 0.5952 J&F, 0.7931 no-target accuracy, 0.9205 target accuracy, and a final score of 0.769589. The challenge organizers notified our team that this result ranked first in the track.

MLLM-Assisted Audio VOS: A 3rd Place Report for the MeViS-Audio Track, 8th LSVOS Challenge

In this technical report, we present a training-free framework for audio-guided video object segmentation, which integrates Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) with SAM-based segmentation models. We decompose the task into several stages and identify suitable foundation models for each stage. Without introducing additional model training or task-specific fine-tuning, our approach leverages the strong multimodal reasoning capabilities of MLLMs to model text-visual correspondence and employs SAM-based models for accurate object mask generation. The proposed framework demonstrates the effectiveness of leveraging foundation models for audio-guided video segmentation and achieves competitive performance in the MeViS-Audio Track of the 8th LSVOS Challenge.

Key-Frame Reasoning with SAM3: Third Place Solution for the MeViS-Text Track of the 8th LSVOS Challenge

This report presents a two-stage, training-free solution for the MeViS-Text track of the 8th LSVOS Challenge. The task requires a model to localize and segment the object specified by a natural-language expression throughout a video. Such expressions often depend on temporal cues, including actions, interactions, directions, and relative positions. Our first stage uses Gemini-3.1 Pro via API to decompose a video-level event into instance-level targets, select a key frame for each target, and generate a discriminative description aligned with that frame. In the second stage, SAM3-agent produces a pixel-level seed mask on the selected frame, and the SAM3 video tracker propagates the mask bidirectionally through the video. Valid instances are grounded and propagated independently before their frame-wise masks are merged. All local SAM3 processing runs on a single NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 without task-specific training or model ensembling. Our method ranked third on the challenge test set, obtaining J&F, J, F, N-acc., T-acc., and Final scores of 0.761, 0.7367, 0.7852, 0.8333, 0.9755, and 0.856593, respectively.

Motion-Aware Reasoning from Speech to Mask Tracks: Runner-up Solution for the MeViS-Audio Track of the 8th LSVOS Challenge 2026

Speech-guided referring video object segmentation aims to recover the mask tracks of objects specified by a spoken motion description. Here, speech carries a linguistic instruction rather than acoustic evidence from a sounding object, so a solution must connect speech recognition, motion-centric temporal grounding, mask tracking, and explicit no-target handling. We introduce Speech2MaskTrack, our approach for the MeViS-Audio track of the 8th LSVOS Challenge. Speech2MaskTrack transcribes the spoken query and compiles it into structured constraints over category, count, direction, interaction role, and temporal phase. SAM3.1 enumerates multiple instance tracks, which TRACE ranks using complete-trajectory motion and relation evidence. A frozen lexical presence gate may suppress the ranked SAM3.1 base prediction. When the gate predicts that a target is present, an available full-expression-conditioned SaSaSa2VA track replaces the SAM3.1 mask. Only outputs that remain empty enter GPT-assisted recovery, which invokes SaSaSa2VA again under query- and mask-level verification. Speech2MaskTrack achieved second place in the official challenge ranking.

Report of the 8th LSVOS Challenge: Complex and Multimodal Video Object Segmentation

This report summarizes the 8th Large-scale Video Object Segmentation (LSVOS) Challenge, held in conjunction with ECCV 2026. The challenge evaluates video segmentation in three complementary settings: complex semi-supervised video object segmentation on MOSEv2, text-guided referring video object segmentation on MeViSv2-Text, and audio-guided referring video object segmentation on MeViSv2-Audio. We describe the tasks and evaluation protocols and review the methods of the top three teams in each track. Across the nine leading solutions, foundation segmentation models are combined with target-aware memory, multimodal reasoning, explicit target-existence verification, agentic interaction, and corrective tracking. These systems illustrate a broader transition from single-model mask propagation toward modular pipelines that reason about object identity, query validity, and temporal reliability.

REZE: Recognition-Based Zero-Shot Extraction for Video Temporal Grounding

SCoPE: Training-Free Audio-Visual Event Perception via Sparse Cross-Modal Prior Exchange

Audio-visual event perception (AVEP) determines which events occur in a video, when they occur, and whether they are audible, visible, or both. Training-free methods query new event vocabularies by matching frozen audio and visual features with text-encoded event names. However, related labels share evidence. An incorrect label can then score at least as high as a correct one. We call this a false co-activation (FCA). No scalar cutoff can reject the incorrect label while keeping every correct one. Class-specific thresholds may prevent that label from becoming a final prediction, but the FCA remains in the underlying score vector. We introduce SCoPE, a training-free framework in which all queried labels compete for shared evidence and each modality guides event selection in the other. We derive an exact condition for when this competition removes an FCA in a two-label fit. With identical frozen CLIP+CLAP backbones on LLP, SCoPE improves Type@seg by 7.45 points and Event@seg by 5.04 points compared with the reported AV$^2$A values. The same fixed configuration transfers unchanged to OV-AVEBench and VGGSound-AVEL100k.
