Body fat distribution, lipid profile and cardiometabolic risk factors in perimenopause
Abstract
Background: Body fat correlates with increased risks of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases, Young women are at a heightened risk for metabolic syndrome linked to dyslipidemia, which contributes to atherosclerosis. Objective: The aimed of study is correlation between body fat distribution, lipid profiles, and cardiometabolic risk factors in perimenopause women with age-specific Methods: A total of in 103 participants aged 35-55 years were included in this cross-sectional study with consecutive sample method. Participants were classified perimenopause women aged <45 and ≥45 years old. Body fat distribution used a Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis, Blood pressure used a sphygmomanometer and lipid profiles by lipid monitoring system by finger prick. Statistical analysis including independent sample t-tests, correlation analysis using pearson correlation test for normally and the Spearman correlation for non-normalyy distributed data.. Results: The results showed that there were differences in characteristics in two groups like WC (89.9±11.4 vs 96.1±9.8), systolic (132.7±23.3 vs 143±23.2), total cholesterol (170.5±39.8 vs 208.3±37.1), HDL-C (42.7±13.3 vs 50.69±14.8), LDL-C (105.7±28.1 vs 122.6±29.9) and TG (128.2±52.8 vs 170.6±74.9). Correlation analysis demonstrated positive correlation between of age with WC, systolic and lipid profiles. WC have a positive correlations with visceral fat and total fat, systolic and diastolic. Diastolic pressure positively correlated with total fat and visceral fat, with a strong correlation with systolic. Age,TC and TG correlated positively with WC and systolic, with LDL showing a similar correlation Conclusion: Research shows a significant association with several cardiovascular risk factors. These risk factors increases the risk of cardiovascular disease.
