Abstract

Blockchain technology has proven to be a game-changing platform for achieving decentralization, immutability, security and transparency in funding models. But current blockchain-supported funding systems primarily use Proof of Work (PoW), which has high energy requirements, scalability issues, and low sustainability. In this paper, we propose a decentralised funding platform based on Proof of Stake (PoS), which provides greater efficiency, scalability and sustainability. The system uses the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) to provide secure, immutable, and decentralised storage for funding receipts and transaction proofs, thus ensuring data persistence, availability and integrity. This system also introduces a reputation scoring system to evaluate the integrity and performance of beneficiaries using dynamic scoring algorithms. This promotes trust and facilitates better decision-making. Also, the system offers transparency in the use of funds by enabling stakeholders to view transactions and see how funds are spent in real time. This helps prevent misuse of funds and thus enhances accountability. The integration of PoS, IPFS, reputation scoring and fund tracking in the proposed system creates a secure, scalable and trustworthy funding system that can be applied in the areas of charity, education and startups.
