Development of a Digital Twin Using Building Information Modelling and IOT Sensor Network Integration

Abstract

The construction industry has been undergoing significant transformation in recent years, largely driven by the rapid advancement and widespread adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. BIM encompasses intelligent 3D modeling methods and management processes that enable the comprehensive planning, documentation, and management of buildings throughout their entire lifecycle. IoT technologies, through the deployment of sensor networks, allow for real-time monitoring, data collection, and analysis of buildings and their environments. A high-level integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies can be achieved through the implementation of a Digital Twin framework.
