Thermal axion production in the early Universe is controlled by the QCD topological-charge-density spectral function evaluated on the light-cone as a function of momentum k. We show how weighted integrals of this quantity can be computed using Euclidean lattice QCD without any analytic continuation, similar to what Harvey Meyer and collaborators have recently done for the photon production rate. We then test the approach in pure-glue QCD at T=1.5 Tc, finding that it is feasible to extract at least one and possibly two finite weighted k-integrals of the k-dependent production rate. This opens the possibility for extractions in full QCD at temperatures around and somewhat above the crossover temperature, where other methods are not reliable.
We compute the thermal photon production rate from a hot and dense quark-gluon plasma. While the mutual cancellation of the intermediate momentum cutoff $k_c$ between the hard and soft regimes in the presence of finite baryon density has been previously established only numerically, we demonstrate here, for the first t...

We present the first calculation of the leading perturbative quantum chromodynamics (QCD) correction to the nonleptonic weak flavor-equilibration rate in dense quark matter. The computation is based on the Kadanoff-Baym kinetic equation and performed using real-time thermal field theory. The resulting QCD correction is...

We investigate how hadron structure and quark-flavor couplings shape axion-like particle (ALP) radiation in hadron collisions. For the elastic pole, the virtuality integral is ultraviolet finite at fixed momentum fraction if the pseudoscalar form factor falls as a positive power of $1/Q^2$ at large $Q^2$, eliminating t...
A first-principles investigation of heavy-light meson behaviour in hot QCD matter is essential for the interpretation of experimental results associated with open heavy flavour productions in relativistic heavy-ion collision experiments. Using anisotropic lattice ensembles from the FASTSUM collaboration with Nf=2+1 dyn...

At sufficiently high temperatures, lattice Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) calculations predict that nuclear matter undergoes a rapid crossover to a novel, deconfined state known as the quark-gluon plasma (QGP), in which quark flavors essentially behave like independent particles. Here we explore the nature of this transi...

We investigate the properties of $\rho$, $\psi$, and $\Upsilon$ mesons within a holographic AdS/QCD framework, capturing both their vacuum phenomenology and in-medium dynamics. By reconstructing flavor-specific gauge kinetic functions within a model originally developed to study thermodynamic functions, we compute the...
