This work investigates the effects of different annealing schedules on the microstructure, mechanical properties, and corrosion resistance of Ti6Al4V and Ti6Al4V–0.5Cu alloys fabricated by selective laser melting (SLM). At the same annealing temperature, no significant differences were observed in the microstructural characteristics between the Ti6Al4V and Ti6Al4V–0.5Cu alloys. At annealing temperatures of 780, 980, and 1080 °C, both alloys exhibited similar microstructural evolution. Initially, at 780 °C, the microstructure was predominantly composed of α′/α martensite, which is similar to the corresponding as‐deposited microstructure. With increasing temperature to 980 °C, the microstructure transformed into a mixture of needle‐like α′/α and lath‐shaped β phases. Ultimately, at 1080 °C, a basket‐like α + β dual‐phase microstructure was formed. Both alloys exhibited superior mechanical performance after annealing at 780 and 980 °C. However, the Ti6Al4V–0.5Cu alloy experienced a significant reduction in tensile ductility when annealed at 1080 °C. The Ti6Al4V–0.5Cu alloy exhibited the best corrosion resistance after annealing at 980 °C. A comprehensive analysis indicates that annealing at 980 °C provides the optimal balance of hardness, tensile strength, ductility, and corrosion resistance for the SLM‐fabricated Ti6Al4V–0.5Cu alloy, representing the most effective heat treatment condition.
The thermomechanical behavior of the Ti-6Al-4V (Ti64) alloy under hot deformation is determined by a complex interplay between strain hardening and thermally assisted restoration processes that finally lead to the formation of the resultant microstructure and mechanical properties. In this research, the effects of defo...
Centrifugally cast 35Cr45NiNb alloy has been widely employed in ethylene-cracking furnace tubes owing to its excellent carburization and creep resistance. However, the influence of microstructural degradation and temperature on its high-temperature tensile behavior remains poorly investigated. In this study, an acceler...

This study investigates the microstructure and mechanical properties of 14Ni3Cr3Mo2Mn ultra-high-strength steel components fabricated by ultrasonic impact-assisted wire arc additive manufacturing (UI-WAAM) at four interlayer temperatures: 80 °C, 150 °C, 200 °C, and 300 °C. Results reveal that interlayer temperature non...
The Ti13Nb13Zr/(Ti,Nb)B metal-matrix composite was produced by vacuum arc remelting; the weight percentage
of TiB2 in the initial charge before melting was 0.7 wt.%; an unreinforced Ti13Nb13Zr alloy was also prepared
for comparison. The initial structure of the unreinforced Ti13Nb13Zr alloy was represented by finely...

Laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) enables the fabrication of titanium alloys with tailored microstructures that allow for control of their properties. In this study, the Ti-20Nb-6Ta alloy was processed by LPBF under various manufacturing conditions. The volumetric energy densities (VED) ranged from 66.1 to 175.8 J/mm...
