TL;DR

A novel blockchain-based disaster recovery backup scheme specifically designed for power acquisition system data that reduces infrastructure construction costs, eliminates single-point-of-failure risks, and provides enhanced scalability suitable for large-scale power data systems.

Abstract

With the rapid development of power systems, the security and reliability of data disaster recovery have become critical challenges. Traditional centralized disaster recovery solutions suffer from single-point-of-failure risks, high infrastructure costs, and limited scalability, while cloud-based approaches introduce data privacy concerns and dependency on third-party providers. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a novel blockchain-based disaster recovery backup scheme specifically designed for power acquisition system data. The proposed scheme integrates All-or-Nothing Transform (AONT) technology with threshold secret sharing to achieve strong data confidentiality and reliable distributed storage. By leveraging the immutability, decentralization, and traceability characteristics of blockchain, the scheme ensures data consistency, integrity, and confidentiality throughout the backup and recovery process. A prototype system is implemented on the Ethereum platform, with HMAC-SHA256 as the pseudo-random function (PRF), cSHAKE128 as the hash function, and AES for symmetric encryption. Experimental results demonstrate that the scheme can effectively guarantee backup data security while maintaining acceptable communication costs and computational overhead under varying node failure thresholds. Compared with existing disaster recovery solutions, the proposed approach reduces infrastructure construction costs, eliminates single-point-of-failure risks, and provides enhanced scalability suitable for large-scale power data systems.
