Abstract

Simple Summary Individual sheep and goat identification is essential for precise feeding and intelligent management, which not only reduces labor costs but also improves the precision of farm management. A lightweight sheep face detection method based on the RetinaFace framework is proposed in this paper, which simultaneously performs bounding box detection and key point localization of sheep and goat faces, making it suitable for practical detection environments and providing a foundation for subsequent sheep and goat face alignment and recognition. The results will serve as an important support for personalized feeding plans, health analysis, and smart farm construction.
