Kozuchi Agent: A Language-Agnostic Open-Weight Agent for Software Repair

Abstract

Industrial software-engineering teams increasingly need LLM agents that turn bug reports into correct patches, yet benchmark-scale operation adds long horizons, tool-use discipline, context persistence, heterogeneous clusters, and evaluation reuse. We present Kozuchi Agent, a language-agnostic open-weight repair agent and CI-operated evaluation pipeline. Explicit phases, persistent state, deterministic tools, a model-independent action interface, and cross-agent test-time selection make runs auditable and repeatable. With locally hosted Qwen3.5-27B, no fine-tuning, and TTS@8, Kozuchi resolves 374/500 SWE-bench Verified instances on the official evaluator. Unchanged on Multi-SWE-bench Java, the same 27-billion-parameter agent resolves 41/128 instances (32.03%), ranking first among strict open-weight submissions and fourth of 42 overall; on Python it ranks 12th of 135 and first among open-weight systems. Per-phase behavior remains within +/-5 percentage points across languages. Remaining failures mainly reflect semantic correctness, Java-specific harness issues, and selection errors. Across both tracks, results compare favorably with open/local peers by parameter count. Analysis of candidate diversity, selector regret, and patch reliability shows that the remaining gap is primarily semantic correctness and selection rather than edit formatting or proprietary-model access. Operationally, reusable CI stages reduce operator touch-points from five to one across heterogeneous internal clusters.

DAREBench: Deployment-Aware and Reliable Evaluation of Models as Agents

As large language models evolve from question-answering systems into general-purpose agents, evaluation must move beyond static answer correctness to assess multimodal perception, multi-step execution, tool use, and artifact delivery. However, existing benchmarks are often tied to specific task types, execution environments, or scoring protocols, limiting their comparability, interpretability, and reliability for deployment decisions. We introduce DAREBench (Deployment-Aware and Reliable Evaluation of Models as Agents), a benchmark designed to capture workload variation and support reliable agent evaluation. Built on a shared OpenClaw execution environment, DAREBench organizes 233 tasks selected and adapted from 22 source benchmarks into a $2\times3$ workload matrix defined by input modality and execution form, and evaluates them under a unified contract-based protocol with evidence-based score auditing. We evaluate 23 commercial API models and 12 locally deployed open-weight models over 7,587 model--task runs, reporting accuracy and token consumption alongside reference costs for API models. Results show that no single model dominates all workload groups, text and multimodal tasks exhibit distinct accuracy--cost trade-offs, and local open-weight models are competitive in several groups but still trail frontier commercial models overall. These findings suggest that agent deployment and model selection should consider workload profiles, deployment mode, and accuracy--cost trade-offs rather than rely on a single aggregate score.

Framework and Benchmark for Code-Driven Agentic Testing in Web Development

End-to-end GUI testing is essential for verifying web applications, yet existing evaluations rely on predefined checklists and are confined to the data and frameworks of web generation benchmarks, leaving the bug-discovery ability of vision-language models (VLMs) systematically untested. We introduce \textbf{C}ode-driven \textbf{A}gentic \textbf{T}esting (CAT), a paradigm in which the agent writes Playwright code to drive the browser, gathers feedback, and autonomously explores web applications to uncover bugs. We instantiate CAT with CATJudge, an agentic framework that unifies Browser-Use and Computer-Use tools within a single environment and CATTest, a benchmark of 102 AI-generated web applications with carefully annotated bugs, built through close human-AI collaboration to feature complex interactions and subtle defects. Experiments with mainstream VLMs show that all evaluated models perform poorly, revealing a clear gap between current VLM capabilities and the demands of real-world testing in AI web development.
