Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) plays a strategic role in shaping students' character in alignment with Pancasila values. However, digital disruption and shifting moral values at the elementary school level demand a more contextual integration between IRE and school culture. This study aims to analyze the implementation of school culture-based IRE in strengthening Pancasila values and to examine the school's response to the challenges of the digital era. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design, this research was conducted over a six-month period (January–June 2026) at SDN Sleman Lor 1, Indramayu. The informants comprised nine participants (the principal, the IRE teacher, the sixth-grade homeroom teacher, and six sixth-grade students) selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings reveal that the integration of IRE and school culture (collective prayers, the 5S culture, and deliberation) successfully internalizes Pancasila values through habituation and role modeling. However, the primary challenge of uncontrolled digital media exposure is addressed by the school through the integration of "Digital Fiqh" materials and social media ethics literacy. This study offers a novel contribution in the form of a Digital-Resilient Religious-Civic Culture model, which synchronizes religious, civic, and digital resilience values.
