Sep 2026 · JOURNAL OF BUSINESS AND AFRICAN ECONOMY · 0 citations

Abstract

In recent years, it can be seen that SMEs in vIetnam have participated more deeply and extensively in the digital transformation process, with support from the government and Hanoi authorities, achieving many accomplishments. Most importantly, the awareness of business leaders has shifted toward openness, willingness to innovate, and readiness to invest more for the application of digital technologies in their business operations. However, due to limitations in human and financial resources, the level of digital transformation in many enterprises remains low. The research results indicate that there are six pillars used to measure the level of digital transformation among small and medium-sized enterprises in the area. At the same time, factors such as business model, human resources, physical and technological infrastructure, the development of the digital technology environment, and the specific characteristics of each business sector all have a positive impact on the level of digital transformation. Meanwhile, corporate strategy, state management and support policies for digital transformation, business age, employee size, and revenue scale do not have a positive impact on the level of digital transformation for these enterprises.
