Abstract

As of Oct. 27, 2025, the Mozi satellite has been in operation in space for more than 9 years. Due to the orbit decaying, it will pass through the dense Earth atmosphere and will be burnt out in near-Earth space. It is necessary to monitor the trajectory of the Mozi satellite more and more frequently when it comes nearer to the dense Earth atmosphere. Based on the software SOCRATES Plus, the authors have carried out simulations of space collisions for Mozi in a given time interval. The simulation has provided an effective way for Mozi satellite operators on the ground to grasp the space safety of the Mozi satellite.
