Results demonstrate that the spatial diversity provided by the FAS significantly enhances the reliability of OODN transmissions while preserving their inherent low-complexity, non-coherent operation without carrier-phase recovery.
Abstract
This letter proposes the integration of on-off digital noise (OODN) modulation with fluid antenna systems (FASs). A unified analytical framework is developed to evaluate the performance of FAS- assisted OODN receivers over additive white Gaussian noise and generalized \k{appa}-{\mu} fading channels. The analysis incorporates fluid antenna port selection, the number of available ports, and spatial correlation. Analytical expressions for the average bit error probability are derived and the achievable diversity order is characterized. All expressions are validated through Monte Carlo simulations. Results demonstrate that the spatial diversity provided by the FAS significantly enhances the reliability of OODN transmissions while preserving their inherent low-complexity, non-coherent operation without carrier-phase recovery. The proposed framework establishes a new research direction for energy-efficient Internet of Things (IoT) and machine-type communication systems.
A finite-sample variance-domain sensing diagnostic quantifies the oracle gap under frozen channels and interferer states, providing a lower-bound warning on fast-FAMA sensing difficulty rather than a deployable acquisition protocol.
Simulations suggest that $\kappa-\mu$ provides better BER performance than the other fading channels irrespective of the number of delay values, Doppler values, and modulation scheme.

This letter proposes multi-bit on-off digital noise (M-OODN), a time-structured $M$ -ary extension of on-off digital noise (OODN) for noise-based signaling. Each symbol is partitioned into OODN-based sub-symbols, enabling multiple bits to be conveyed through temporal silence-versus-noise patterns without intermediate v...

A fluid antenna system (FAS) can improve both energy harvesting and data transmission in wireless powered communication (WPC) by exploiting spatial diversity with a single RF chain. In this letter, we study the outage probability of a FAS-assisted WPC network under the port selection criterion that maximizes the produc...

Fluid antenna systems (FAS) offer immense spatial diversity within compact spaces. However, existing performance analyses predominantly rely on Shannon\'s capacity bounds, assuming infinite blocklength transmissions. To address the strict requirements of emerging Internet-of-Things (IoT) and ultra-reliable low-latency...
