GenAI-Generated Authorship: “Where Does the Danger Lie?”
Abstract
ABSTRACT The discussion in this text is based on the assumption that epistemic authorship is, without a doubt, a scientific demand, made possible in and by scientific discursive practices, which goes beyond a richer vocabulary, a more articulated syntax, and more complex texts - generated by GenAI-Generated -, as its creators would have us believe. None of this corresponds to the “real” of language of language and scientific discourse in the production of meaning, as we aim to discuss below, from the perspective French school of discourse analysis. Thus, we intend to problematize the concepts of scientific writing and its correlate, the scientific text, the epistemic author-function, and also its correlate, the reader-effect, which have been guiding practices of this writing through the generation of texts by GenAI-Generated, based on prompts - texts that describe the task that the GenAI-Generated must perform.
