ABSTRACT Soil moisture data improves the accuracy of remotely sensed surface soil moisture evaluations, as water resources, agriculture, climate, and ecosystems are impacted by land-atmosphere interactions. This study aimed to examine the retrieved soil moisture data and its correlation with rainfall to analyze the re...

Experimental Analysis of the Effects of Selected Water Quality Parameters' on Soil Infiltration Dynamics under Controlled Temperatures

The movement of water into soil is a critical process influencing irrigation efficiency, infiltration processes, groundwater recharge, soil moisture availability, and sustainable agricultural production. While soil characteristics have traditionally been regarded as the principal factors controlling infiltration, the i...

Modeling soil volumetric water content based on climatic factors in the Tripoli region (Libya) using multiple linear regression

Climate scientists have been interested in the causes of the significant rise in temperatures, resulting in cold and heat waves, and consequently, periods of drought and flooding in various parts of the world. Our current study highlights the impact of climatic factors on soil moisture in the city of Tripoli, Libya. Wh...

Response of multi-layer soil temperature and moisture to climate change in the frozen soil Region of Northeast China based on interpretable machine learning

The results indicate that temperatures increased across all four soil layers during the study period, with the magnitude of warming generally decreasing with depth, and changes in soil moisture displayed a non-monotonic pattern, accompanied by substantial interannual variability.

Seasonal differentiation and drivers of vertical soil moisture variation in farmland of the middle Heihe River

Soil water scarcity constitutes a pivotal environmental challenge across arid and semi-arid zones both in China and globally. Driven by ongoing climate change coupled with anthropogenic disturbances, such drought-prone areas keep undergoing continuous spatial expansion. The middle reaches of the Heihe River, as a t...
