TL;DR

Compared to state-of-the-art methods, the proposed FastPro-Gaussian achieves comparable TDOM fidelity with over two-fold acceleration in training time (notably more than two times faster than Tortho-GS), confirming its strong potential for practical deployment in geospatial production pipelines.

Abstract

True digital orthophoto maps (TDOMs) serve as foundational geospatial products for applications in land surveying, urban planning, and emergency management. Conventional TDOM generation relies on differential correction, often resulting in cartographic artifacts such as geometric discontinuities, radiometric inconsistencies, and linear feature misalignments. Although recent methods leverage 3D Gaussian splatting to bypass differential correction, their computational demands hinder real-world deployment. To address these limitations, we propose FastPro-Gaussian, a novel framework enabling rapid high-quality TDOM generation on consumer-grade GPUs. Our contributions are threefold: block-based processing ensuring scalability for large-scale scenes; progressive densification stabilizing model optimization and reducing training iterations; and spherical-to-ellipsoidal Gaussian transformation, accelerating early-stage optimization of structural features (e.g., building edges). Experiments demonstrate that FastPro-Gaussian surpasses commercial solutions (ContextCapture, Metashape, and Pix4Dmapper) in rendering quality for building facades, edges, and roads. Compared to state-of-the-art methods, it achieves comparable TDOM fidelity with over two-fold acceleration in training time (notably more than two times faster than Tortho-GS). These gains in efficiency and efficacy confirm its strong potential for practical deployment in geospatial production pipelines.

High-Fidelity Gaussian Splatting from MVS Clouds: An Iterative Spatial Decomposition framework

This work proposes an Iterative Spatial Decomposition framework that bridges dense geometric priors from Multi-View Stereo (MVS) with Gaussian Splatting and introduces Hierarchical Geometric Prior Sampling (HGPS), which substantially reduce redundancy in MVS point clouds while preserving critical details, thereby providing a more robust geometric foundation for reconstruction.

GLAM-SLAM: Real-time Gaussian Large-scale Mapping via Flow Densification and Spatial Decomposition

Existing Gaussian-splatting-based monocular Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) systems are either tailored to short sequences, are not real-time, or suffer from prohibitive GPU memory requirements, limiting their applicability in realistic, long-horizon scenarios. To address this, we present GLAM-SLAM, a real-time, decoupled Gaussian-splatting SLAM system designed for large-scale outdoor scenes. We ensure lightweight tracking using a robust, feature-based SLAM frontend, while for mapping, we adopt a structured, sparse anchor grid representation that ensures scalable operation and maintains scene coherence across long-term sequences. To satisfy the dense initialization requirements of 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS), we introduce a geometry-based flow-densification anchoring strategy using epipolar constraints. Furthermore, by treating mapping as a multi-scene problem, we propose a scene-partitioning strategy that introduces a strong spatial inductive bias via MLP initializations to generate localized Gaussians. We evaluate our system on the challenging, long-sequence KITTI Odometry, Oxford RobotCar, and M'alaga datasets. Extensive ablations and comparisons demonstrate a 15% improvement in reconstruction quality over the second-best performer, while maintaining real-time performance and the ability to scale to longer sequences. Code is publicly available for the benefit of the community.

SHARP-GS: Scalable High-fidelity Accelerated Rendering Pipeline for Ultra-high Resolution 3D Gaussian Splatting

We present SHARP-GS, a high-performance framework that unlocks real-time 8K rendering for immersive virtual experiences by overcoming the scaling bottlenecks of 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS). While 3DGS excels at real-time view synthesis, its performance degrades non-linearly at ultra-high resolutions due to excessive binning overhead, uncoalesced memory access, and redundant per-pixel arithmetic. SHARP-GS addresses these inefficiencies through three key contributions: (i) Resolution-Aware Adaptive Binning, which maintains a constant overlap factor via dynamic tile sizing and employs fine-grained sub-tile culling; (ii) a Morton-Ordered Memory Layout to ensure spatially coherent memory access; and (iii) Forward Differencing, which replaces expensive probability density function evaluations with efficient incremental updates. On high-end consumer GPUs, our framework achieves an average 2.55× speedup at 8K resolution, sustaining over 250 FPS with negligible visual quality loss. This performance delivers the necessary pixel throughput to enable high-fidelity, 120 Hz stereoscopic VR experiences. Code and data for this paper are at https://github.com/dingjr7/SHARP-GS.

AnyGS2Mesh: Feed-Forward Mesh Reconstruction from 3D Gaussian Splatting with Arbitrary-Resolution Views

Existing 3D mesh reconstruction methods from Gaussian scene representations predominantly rely on iterative optimization, resulting in slow inference and limited scalability to high-resolution inputs. In this paper, we present AnyGS2Mesh, the first feed-forward framework for directly reconstructing 3D meshes from 3D Gaussian Splatting representations with support for arbitrary input image resolutions. Our approach incorporates a Gaussian-Guided Transformer architecture that exploits explicit 3D geometric priors for efficient mesh generation. We introduce three key components: (1) a Gaussian-Guided Spatial Reasoning Transformer represents Gaussian primitives as structured 3D tokens and jointly reasons over Gaussian and image features; (2) a Streaming and Patchwise Geometry Encoder processes native-resolution views sequentially and aggregates information across variable-length view sets; (3) a Scale-Aligned Hybrid Depth Refiner uses a PatchFusion-style encoder--decoder to fuse RGB-conditioned predicted depth with Gaussian-rendered metric depth, combining fine local structures with globally consistent metric scale. The refined depth maps are integrated through TSDF fusion, followed by Marching Cubes for deterministic mesh extraction. Extensive experiments show that AnyGS2Mesh achieves state-of-the-art reconstruction quality while significantly reducing inference time compared with optimization-based baselines, enabling near-real-time, high-quality mesh reconstruction. Our results demonstrate the potential of combining Gaussian representations and feed-forward Transformer architectures for scalable 3D geometry reconstruction. The code will be made publicly available upon acceptance.
